In the life of United Church of Marco Island, music is far more than being just a part of Sunday worship. It is central to our worship experience, brings people together in fellowship, and helps us share the joy and message of Jesus Christ with our congregation and the wider community. We recognize the importance of this ministry and our responsibility to ensure that it continues to grow and flourish throughout the year.

We are deeply grateful to Chris Moore for the many years he has shared his musical gifts with United Church of Marco Island. His outstanding accompaniment, his own musical performances, and his work coordinating our annual concert series have made a lasting contribution to the life of this church. The concert series, in particular, has become a treasured offering that draws people from both on and off the Island and extends our church’s musical ministry into the wider community.

Over the past year, we have brought a wonderful variety of musical experiences to our congregation, including performances by a number of talented musicians from Southwest Florida, bringing in the ministry of musical interns Blake and Drea, and celebrating the dedication of the two pianos generously given to our church on October 11.

As our music ministry continues to evolve, so have life circumstances. After thoughtful conversations with Chris and the Moderator of the Executive Committee, Chris will step back from his regular role in the music program this season and take the time to focus on his health and enjoy time with his family. We recognize that this is a significant change, particularly given Chris’s many years of dedicated service, and we move into this new period with sincere appreciation for all he has contributed to our congregation.

At an appropriate time before the end of the season, we will gather to celebrate Chris and express our gratitude for the extraordinary gifts he has shared with us through his music, his commitment, and his service to this church.

Thank you, Chris, for sharing your talent, your passion, and your faith through the gift of music. Your contributions have enriched our worship and touched many lives, and we are grateful for the legacy you leave in the life of United Church of Marco Island.
