OUR MISSION:
ALS of Michigan is dedicated to helping our pALS, their families and caregivers
live life as fully as possible.
Dear Friend,

2020 is off and running. We are busy helping and supporting the needs of our pALS and their families across Michigan. What year it is doesn't matter. We are here all year long doing our very best to make sure that our Michigan ALS community has the tools needed to 'live" everyday with ALS. Once again, we want to say THANK YOU to all our supporters who make it possible for us to provide "Hope - Help - and Being Here" when it is most needed.
MARK YOUR CALENDARS!
It's NEVER TOO EARLY to start planning for these events.
WALK 'n ROLL & RUN FOR ALS
Our Walk 'n Roll for ALS website is up and running for 2020. It's never too early to get started forming your team and raising donations. Just click here to register. This is our 20th year of Walking and Rolling. Help make it our best year ever!

AUCTION MANIA
We are looking for donations for our online auction in April. If you know someone or a business who would like to donate an item or a service, please have them contact kim@alsofmi.org or call 248-354-6100 and ask for Kim Graziosi. Our auction reaches thousands of bidders, and is great exposure for businesses.
FAMILY and FRIENDS EVENTS
Last year we had close to 20 Family and Friends events that raised critically needed funds to support our programs and services. We cannot begin to say how grateful we are to these wonderful people who took time from their busy schedules to host an event to benefit ALS of Michigan and our ALS community. Watch for all the upcoming events for 2020!
WOW! WOW! WOW!
Pointe Academy Dance Center reached a milestone this year, going over the $50,000 mark for total donations raised through their Holiday Show to support our Michigan ALS community.

We are so deeply grateful! They are an amazing group of dancers and their show will delight everyone! They will be at it once again in December 2020. Watch for the information

Experimental Treatments for ALS
from ALS NEWS TODAY
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis  (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease, is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects motor neurons, or nerve cells that control muscle movement, causing their death.

Rilutek  (riluzole),  Tiglutik  (riluzole oral suspension), and  Radicava  ( edaravone ) are the only medications currently approved to treat ALS, but they have limited efficacy. Thus, many experimental compounds are being investigated as potential treatments. These include  BHV-0223 ,  H.P. Acthar Gel ,  MN-166 ,  GM6 ,  AMX0035 ,  Gilenya  (fingolimod),  IONIS-SOD1Rx  (BIIB067),  Arimoclomol ,  AT-1501 ,  NP001 ,  VM202 ,  Reldesemtiv ,  Masitinib ,  NurOwn ,  NSI-566 , CNS10-NPC-GDNF, and  Mexiletine .

WORKSHOPS & SEMINARS
