AmCham is working with the Hospital of Hematology and Blood Transfusion (BTH) to organize Summer Blood Donor Days 2023 at Victoria Healthcare Clinics on August 17 in Thu Duc and August 28 in Phu Nhuan. The day is meant to encourage voluntary blood donations during the high season of blood shortage in summer.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission will conduct FREE product safety training for buyers and sourcing professionals purchasing textiles/ apparel/ upholstered furniture in Vietnam. The training event will take place from 9:00am to 5:00pm on September 13, 2023 in Ho Chi Minh City.
Target groups for this training are resident-in-Vietnam buyers and sourcing professionals who purchase consumer products for major importers located in the United States. Many will be direct employees of U.S. companies. Other potential attendees will be from specialized firms that handle purchasing for large global retailers, as well as from small and medium sized trading companies active in the consumer product export business. English-Vietnamese interpretation will be provided.

AAP WDC Door Knock Kicks Off
This week AmChams of Asia Pacific (AAP) launched their annual Door Knock in Washington, D.C., in which AmCham members are meeting with Biden administration officials, Members of Congress and other stakeholders to discuss U.S. policy matters important to the Asia Pacific region.
Hang Nguyen, Partner at Baker McKenzie, is representing the AmCham Vietnam HCMC Board of Governors at the event. The 2023 AAP Door Knock Delegation Statement can be found here.

AmCham Supports Digital Labeling
Recently AmCham Vietnam HCMC & Danang joined the American Apparel and Footwear Association (AAFA) to endorse a Global Open Letter co-signed by 130 organizations in support of digital labeling.
The Global Open Letter urges supranational, national, and local authorities around the world to modernize their domestic textile, garment, footwear, and related accessories labeling requirements and legally allow and support the use of more sustainable and economic digital labels for required labeling information. The letter, which was endorsed by our Manufacturing Committee leaders and reviewed by the Advocacy Panel, can be found here.
