Dear Residents -
Although it may not feel like it, fall is right around the corner. But there’s still plenty of time to get out and enjoy the outdoors before the weather gets too cold. And if you happen to venture onto the Joseph B. Clarke Rail Trail, you’ll find two new, working water filling stations—one by the Blauvelt Library and one in Depot Square—with water spouts for both you and your four-legged friends.
Tomorrow, I’ll be staffing a table at the Pearl River Farmers Market, where I’ll have information about the Orangetown Food Scrap Recycling Program, along with a limited supply of containers and composting bags to give away. I’ll also have information about Proposition #2, the ballot proposition you’ll be asked to vote on this election. Please stop by, ask any questions you may have about either of these initiatives (or anything else, for that matter), and shop for food and other goods in support of the farmers market and our local vendors.
Finally, after many years, we saw the opening this week of the Lidl supermarket on Route 303 in Tappan. Several Orangetown residents joined me at 7:45 am Wednesday morning for the official ribbon-cutting ceremony and to personally welcome Lidl to Orangetown.
There are so many great events happening this weekend, so be sure to scroll down to the end of the newsletter so you don’t miss any of them.
For those observing, I wish you an easy fast this Yom Kippur.
Regards,
