I needed to purchase some supplies for my business rather quickly. As I did my research I found a company that looked like they could sell me what I wanted, but I had a few questions. I went to their web site for my answers. Guess what? No FAQ or much information that I needed.
So I thought I would contact them. I'm old school. I use a phone to talk to people, and I don't text them first to ask if I can call them!
I looked all over their web site for a phone number. Yes, I looked on their "Contact Us" page. All that was there was a form to submit a question. I did not have the time to wait around; I wanted to BUY NOW! No other way to contact them. So I went with another company!
As I'm working on my new web site I have told the people working on it that I want my phone number at the top of each page and a contact me button on each page. WHY?
Because I do not want to make it hard for people to reach me! Don't make people hunt! Make it easy for people to contact you to give you money!
On the same note. As a business with a business phone (you really do need a business phone) you need to answer your business phone during business hours. You can't expect people to text you. Neither can you let it go to voice mail because you don't recognize the number or caller.
By the way you do need to set up your voice mail, listen and respond promptly to those messages.
As my former business coach would say "A.A.T.P. - Always Answer The Phone!" When he first started his business he hired a service to answer his phone when he was out inspecting homes (he was a home inspector) so that a real person could answer propects' questions and book an appointment. If you can't answer your phone, you need to either have a service answer your phone or use voice mail, but check it as soon as possible and respond quickly.
Finally use chat bots and AI chat bots to answer questions on your web site. Some of the AI bots will even schedule the appointment for you.
