The community for those who serve alone

Which is your favorite Cheesecake?

This Shavuot, we will be hosting dinner for lone soldiers and lone b'not sherut at the Michael Levin Base.

Dinner will be followed by torah learning together with Torah Cafe and tefillot at the Kotel.

We will also be hosting Shabbat meals ensuring no lone soldiers or lone b'not sherut will be alone during the Chag.

Wishing you all a Chag Sameach!

Yom Ha'atzmaut 2026: Together to celebrate 78 Years

On Yom Ha'atzmaut, Tuesday evening, April 21st, we had the joy of celebrating Israel's 78th Independence Day with over 300 lone soldiers and b'nei and b'not sherut for a night that truly felt like a party. The atmosphere was electric, with great music, lots of laughter, and the kind of energy that only this community can bring. They came to unwind, step out of uniform, and just enjoy the night.

We fired up the BBQ with steaks, burgers, and more, had an amazing DJ who kept the dancing going all night, and a photo magnet station that gave everyone something fun to take home. And honestly, what can be better than a cotton candy and popcorn machine? It was the kind of touch that just made the whole night feel complete.

It was a great event, and we were so happy to share it with the people who make this community what it is. Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make it happen.

Am Yisrael Chai.

Remembering Michael Levin z"l

Featured at the Knesset

As we will soon commemorate 20 years since Michael Levin z"l fell, The Base was honored to be featured in a video shown at the Knesset and on Israeli television as part of the Knesset's official Yom Hazikaron ceremony and annual tribute. It was a meaningful moment of recognition for everything this community represents and a reminder of why Michael's legacy continues to inspire so many.

Shabbat Meals with love

There is something special about sitting down to a Shabbat meal that no one should have to miss. Every week, we make sure our lone soldiers and lone b'nei and b'not sherut have exactly that: a real table, real food, and people around them who care. Since October 7th, the need has only grown, and we have made sure to keep up with the demand.

Week after week, Shabbat after Shabbat, we show up for the people who serve all of us. Please help support our Shabbat meals with love and make sure no lone soldier or lone ben or bat sherut spends Shabbat alone.

From Russia with love

Our Russian department set off for their second overnight hike near Jerusalem, spending the night out in the field, taking in the beauty of this country, and building the kind of bonds that only come from sharing an experience like that together.

There is something special about getting out of the routine, onto the land, and just being present with the people who care for you. It was a night well spent.

For Lag Baomer, we took our lone soldiers and b'nei and b'not sherut to the beach for a BBQ evening and a chance to just unwind together.

Good for Your Mind, Body and Soul: Every Sunday evening, we host a weekly workout group for our post-service soldiers, run by Sean Haber, a former lone soldier and owner of Seanfit4life. After finishing their service, having a consistent space to show up, stay active, and be around people who truly understand what it means to be a lone soldier, makes a real difference.

Seanfit4life creates a safe and welcoming place for these incredible individuals to keep moving, stay connected, and support one another on the next chapter of their journey.

The group keeps growing week after week, and we are so glad to have Sean leading the way.

Ma Nishtana?

This Pesach, we put together our annual Michael Uri Samter zt"l Pesach Package Project, delivering over 200 packages to our soldiers filled with everything they needed for the holiday: matzah, grape juice, plasticware, towels, sponges, cutting boards, gift cards, and more.

None of it would have been possible without the incredible support of the Samter family, Leket Israel, the 10 Gentiles, Bridges of Peace, and Farm to Family, all of whom came together to make sure our lone soldiers and lone b'not and b'nei sherut had everything they needed to celebrate Pesach in the best way possible.
