The healing power of kindness is present in every gift.
It is our privilege to pass it on.
Hello,

The new year has brought important updates to Bronson Health Foundation: we are pleased to introduce the newly elected officers of our board; the launch of a new scholarship for Bronson South Haven employees; and with mixed emotions we say farewell to one of our colleagues. And Bronson Healthcare invites you to a Virtual Vigil in honor and remembrance of all those impacted by COVID-19.

Thank you for your continued support of Bronson!

Sincerely,

Liz Semaan

New Officers Elected to Foundation Board of Directors
At the most recent Bronson Health Foundation Board of Directors meeting, a new slate of officers were elected. Rachel Worgess is the new board chair and Don Williamson is the new vice chair through 2024. New to officer positions are Ron Foor, serving as treasurer; and Corey La Gro, serving as secretary. We thank these newly elected officers and our entire board of directors for all they do to serve Bronson Health Foundation and southwest Michigan.

Von Washington, Jr. has served as chair of the board for the last three years and will continue to serve as immediate past chair. Terry Morrow, President of Bronson Health Foundation shared, "I thank Von for his remarkable leadership as board chair. He provided exceptional guidance through many opportunities and challenges, including our first ever capital campaign and a worldwide pandemic. We are immensely grateful for Von's commitment to the Foundation and the communities we serve."

We are grateful to South Haven Hospital advisory board members who have served as community partners with Bronson South Haven Hospital since 2017. The board members generously decided to create a donor-advised fund to continue the legacy of the South Haven Health System Board and its service. The vision for the fund is to create scholarships for employees of Bronson South Haven who have a desire to pursue education and obtain skills that will allow them to grow into new positions at Bronson.

Board member Dr. Richard Allen shared “This gift represents the final assets of South Haven Community Hospital and we are pleased that its legacy will live on through this scholarship. We highly value the individuals who work for Bronson South Haven and we believe this gift demonstrates our continued commitment to healthcare in our community.”
Heather Oestrike Schripsema Says Farewell to BHF
On January 17, we bid farewell, with gratitude and wishes for a bright future, to Heather Oestrike Schripsema, senior gift officer for Bronson Health Foundation. Heather made a significant positive impact on our work through the special connections she made with our supporters.

We hope you will join us in wishing Heather success and joy in her next professional chapter. We are confident she will inspire many others as she did during her time at Bronson Health Foundation.

Heather wanted to share one last "thank you" with all of you in the short video below.
Healing Steps Forward Virtual Vigil
Bronson Healthcare invites community members to join in a Healing Steps Forward Virtual Vigil in honor and remembrance of all those impacted by COVID-19. In the nearly two years since the pandemic reached our communities, many people have experienced anxiety, loss, grief and trauma. This vigil is a chance for our staff to come together, along with the community, to grieve, provide support and move forward on a path to healing.

The Virtual Vigil will be held on Tuesday, February 15 at 7:30 p.m. We invite you to save the date and watch for details on bronsonfoundation.com and our social media pages in the next few weeks on how to participate.
