Alum Ambassadors Needed for Move-In

Our freshman class will arrive on Saturday, August 16, and we are seeking alumni ambassadors to help make move-in day an exceptional and welcoming experience for our students. There are opportunities to participate both on campus and from your home. You can work an hour or all day. We would love for you to help our new Tigers feel welcome!

New Mentorship Program Launches Fall 2025

This fall, Georgetown College is adding a new program that will foster student success with the official launch of the TIGER-TO-TIGER Mentorship Program. Designed to build meaningful connections between Tigers both past and present, the program will serve as a way for alumni to reconnect with campus while also preparing students to make a positive difference in the world.

All graduates of Georgetown College can be mentors. You do not need to live close to campus to participate; mentoring can take place using phone, text, email, or video conferencing. A great mentor will be in regular contact with their mentee for at least one full school year.

Men's Soccer Names New Coach

Georgetown Athletics has hired Louis Jones as the new men’s soccer head coach. Jones comes to Georgetown after serving as head coach at Campbellsville-Harrodsburg for the 2024 season. Prior to 2024, he served as an assistant women’s coach at Midway University and Asbury University. Jones also brings a wealth of youth experience, having served as head coach of the boys’ and girls’ teams at East Jessamine High School.

New Online Program for Adults

Georgetown College will enroll its first class of adult online program completers in the fall. The program will begin with four majors including business administration, management, elementary education, and integrated studies.

Many of the students in this program will be former GC students who did not finish their degree and need a way to complete one now in a way that works with their current life. Others may be students who have earned an associate’s degree and are now looking for an affordable way to get an excellent bachelor’s degree from an institution like Georgetown College. Recognizing that many adult learners have full-time jobs and family responsibilities, the Adult Online Program has been designed to provide maximum flexibility and affordability for adult completers, allowing them to take classes part-time or full-time during the fall, spring, or summer terms. Stay tuned for more information!

Own a Piece of History

The renovation of Davis-Reid Alumni Gym is underway! Crews of all types have been on campus working on the project with an estimated completion date of Fall 2025. This is the oldest gym in Kentucky where collegiate athletics are contested! The current gym building was constructed in 1925, dedicated in 1926, and renovated in 1986. Over the years, Davis-Reid Alumni Gym has served as a chapel, classroom, and even student housing. In January 2012, the facility was renamed to honor longtime basketball coaches Bob Davis and Jim Reid.

Now YOU can own a piece of this historic floor. Click the link below, call 502.863.8007, or email alumni@georgetowncollege.edu to put your name on a waiting list to purchase a piece of the gym floor where so many Tigers have earned their stripes.
