in regards to COVID-19 and getting in-person Scouting started again in the Garden State Council. Please review carefully and share with families in your unit.
Garden State Council Family:
We are rooting for our Scout families. We send to you wishes of safety and strength, and health and happiness—and we miss you!
We hope that Scouting has been a positive experience for you since mid-March, when the Garden State Council put in place a suspension of in-person Scouting. Thousands of families have participated in online meetings, virtual adventures, merit badges, and backyard campouts.
Now, as the state lifts restrictions, it’s time to get back to in-person Scouting!
The current suspension of in-person Scouting will continue through June 15, 2020
. On June 15, the council will announce plans to safely reopen Scout Service Centers, camps, and the Scout Stores, as well as recommendations to resume unit meetings and activities.
All unit, district, and council in-person events that were scheduled through June 15 should be converted to virtual meetings/events or postponed. In addition, the Council will announce final plans for summer camp no later than May 28
th
; whether in-person or virtual, the council will offer a terrific, fun experience for camp.
Employees of
the Garden State Council continue to work from home. For service, contact your District-serving executive or the Service Center at 609-261-5850.
