Community Center
Status Update
The City of Los Altos is very excited about the status of our new Community Center! Demolition is officially over; all the old buildings and foundation have been removed. The buildings came down quickly but sorting and recycling the rubble was the bulk of this phase. Currently, construction crews are pouring the concrete foundation and digging trenches for utilities.

The next phase is framing! Residents will start to see walls coming up and a building taking shape. In this phase, there will be nailing and concrete screwing, but it's well worth it! Due to Saturday construction days and some overtime, the rain has been absorbed into the schedule. We are still on track for a December 2020 finish. We are incredibly excited for the work that our contractors, construction managers, and City Staff have been able to accomplish.

Interested in seeing the demolition? Well you are in luck! Thanks to our partner, TechCam, we have uploaded a short time-lapse of demolition. This 45 second video takes you through the 14 days when the buildings came down. Check it out here:  www.losaltosca.gov/communitycenter
