Rancho Milpitas Middle School student Ritushree Bhaskaran was honored by the MUSD Board of Education and District leadership for being a talented writer and earning a First Class designation in the 2025 NCTE Promising Young Writers Contest.

Milpitas Unified School District's Director of Student Nutrition Services & Warehouse Sandy Huynh, along with SNS Field Operations Supervisor Fatemeh Tabib and Brigaid Consulting Chef Scott Schneider shared an update with the Board on the initiatives and progress made within the SNS team.

Milpitas Community Education Foundation co-President Swati Shah shared an annual update on the support MCEF has provided to the Milpitas Unified School District community in a variety of initiatives.

Milpitas High School completes administrative team with new hire for the 2025-26 school year


Superintendent Cheryl Jordan introduced administrator Dawnel Sonntag as the newest Assistant Principal at Milpitas High School during the MUSD Board of Education Meeting on June 24th.

Superintendent Jordan introduces 2025-35 MUSD Educational Roadmap

Superintendent Cheryl Jordan provided a draft of the MUSD 2025-2035 Educational Roadmap: Shaping the Future through Building a Culture of We (Culture of We MER) to the Board of Education for its consideration. The Culture of We MER provides the framework for all MUSD plans and alignment to the MUSD Strategic Goals which have been revised with MUSD Team Member input:

  1. Build a Culture of We that engages MUSD partners, families, team members, and community in supporting learner success.
  2. Improve Communication Systems to assure engagement and collaboration with MUSD partners and stakeholders in support of all learners.
  3. Design pathways that empower every learner - students and team members - to explore their passions and pursue future careers.
  4. Focus services and support systems to ensure all learners are fully engaged while achieving social, emotional, and academic gains.
  5. Develop creative, learner focused strategies to ensure healthy learning and working environments.

Board accepts Parcel Tax Committee Report


In June 2022, Milpitas renewed the parcel tax ensuring the stability of this local funding source commencing July 2023 through June 2031. It will continue to support academic programs and to retain teachers in local Milpitas public schools. Parcel Tax Oversight Committee Chair William Lam shared the annual report and the budget information from 2023-24 and 2024-25.
