My heart is filled with much gratitude for all the wonderful friends of A Safe Haven for Newborns that joined us at our 10th Annual A Wonderland in Safe Haven Gala last month; in person and virtually. It truly warmed my heart to see so many kind-hearted folks join us in our mission to end infant abandonment. You all played an important role in the evening's success.
I would like to begin by expressing my sincerest appreciation to Thomas Abraham from the Anthony Abraham Foundation and his sister, Norma Jean, for their generosity and unwavering support throughout the years.
When people open their hearts and come together, great things happen. I would also like to acknowledge and thank our many sponsors, who have been by our side helping with our mission.
Thank you to: Spanish Broadcasting Systems, Libertore Foundation for Children, Tom & Kathy Shannon Family Foundation, Baptist Health, Memorial Healthcare System, Accord Production, Amerant Bank-Doral, Bacardi, Brickman Insurance & Financial Services Inc., Carmen Rebozo Foundation, Centurion Family Foundation, Coastal Construction Group, Ebsary Foundation Company, Farris Foundation, Law Office of Jerome & Donna Hurtak, Miami-Dade Commissioner Rene Garcia, District 13, Price Family Foundation, Publix, Rotary Club of Miami Shores, Sora Global Insurance & Consulting, SouthState Bank, The Keyes Company, and Trinity Group Companies.
A lot of behind-the-scenes work takes place to execute an event of this magnitude. We are a small foundation that is blessed with dedicated volunteers that silently make things happen. I would like to recognize the passionate work that was done by the Silent Auction team. They worked tirelessly procuring items to present to you and managing the virtual silent auction portion of the program.
Thank you to: Alexis Martinez, Ann McCormick, Cindy Delgado, Chelsea Oakley, Gloria Burns, Isabela Delgado, Isis Garcia, Katty Payne, Marti Bueso, Monica Marin, Patricia Gallardo, and Tommy Raffaele.
Thank you to the gala’s event planner, Ana Vento from Events by Vento Designs.
In order for an event to be engaging, entertaining, and to run smoothly, you need a very special kind of person. For the past five years, Lauren Pastrana, co-anchor of CBS4 evening news, has been the gala’s Mistress of Ceremony, giving graciously of her time to help us with our message; and for that, we are very grateful. Thank you Lauren for your friendship, dedication, and for believing in our cause and helping us spread the word.
In closing, I would like to express my thankfulness for the kindness and generosity of our donors. Your support and believe in what we do allows us to be present when a call comes in from a distraught young pregnant woman. Your donations allow us to continue with our mission to help the newborn have a chance at life and to be a part of a caring and loving family.
With my heart full of beautiful memories, I thank you.
Nick
