News from the Director

This is my favorite time of the year! We have huddles starting up again all over the Area. We love to see the excitement in the new student leaders, the momentum in the new huddles and Holy Spirit moving in the lives of coaches, athletes and students!

You'll see below some exciting news. We have been praying for opportunities to open up at specific schools, and of course God is SHOWING UP! It really is an honor to be a part of this ministry!

Please continue to pray for our family, as the twins are expected any day now!

Area Rep Report

God is good! In this last month, we have had four schools reach out to start new Huddles! His Spirit is definitely moving in these counties, and it is such a blessing to be a part of it. I also had the privilege of speaking at Malone University's first Huddle meeting of the school year with 40 students. In my message, I felt led to give them a call to action to step up as leaders, not only within their Huddle but also among their families, friends, and teams. In answer to our prayers, two students have stepped up to lead the Huddle and carry out FCA's mission on Malone's campus. I pray that more students will continue to step up, and I applaud those who have been willing to answer this call.

Apart from my work with Huddle leaders at various schools, I spent a week at FCA's HQ in Kansas City for training. While there, I got to meet five other incredible young women in this ministry from across the nation whose testimonies and experiences were such an encouragement to me. We shared our concerns with each other, confessed all that hinders us, prayed with each other, and even baptized a member of our group in the hotel swimming pool! What a victory for the Kingdom! I'm eager to see what God does next!

East Canton Elementary is our first elementary huddle! Praise God!

Elementary

Huddles

God has been opening doors for us to do ministry in the local elementary schools!

This has been a goal of ours to reach people of all ages with the gospel.

We are thankful for the support of our local board, school principals, teachers and community volunteers. We look forward to bringing you more updated on this new opportunity for ministry.

College Huddles

Starting, Growing, Thriving

After years of prayer, we are excited to announce that Walsh started an FCA huddle on campus! Their last huddle had 33 students. Please pray for student leader Garrett Kashner and for the maturity of this huddle as it continues to grow!

Ashland's Huddle maxed out the campus chapel. They had to relocate their huddle! Praise God for this growth. Continue to pray for Huddle Leader and Campus Chaplain Joe as he disciples and leads the athletes and students on campus!

Mount Union's huddle has 120 students gathered together to worship this month. This is a huge jump in attendance from last year. There is a hunger on campus for the Lord and Christian community. Continue to pray for their student leaders and the discipleship groups that meet all over campus!

God answered our prayers and brought two student athletes to lead this on campus huddle! It continues to grow every week and we are thankful to be able to have more a presense on campus. We are also honored to lead a coaches huddle on campus starting in October!

We are praying for the FCA Huddle to start at the College of Wooster. Please pray with us, we would love to see the gospel being spread to coaches and athletes on all 5 colleges in our Area!

Mapleton Huddle

Rico was able to visit Mapleton's huddle this month and speak to their athletes about their Identity in Christ!

Thank you Mapleton for the warm welcome and inviting us to your football practice and team dinner! We are thankful for Kara Edgell and Pastor Richard Grilley for dedicating their time to this local huddle!

New Prospective Staff: Torie Shaffer

Area Representative

FCA has been very impactful in my life since I was in college at Mount Union. Throughout my years coaching softball at Norton, I was able to lead a huddle and see Christ work through the lives of these young ladies. After going to Germany and working alongside FCA, I knew God was calling me to serve athletes and coaches in my area as well. I pray that we can increase huddles and make Jesus known to even more coaches and athletes.
