Acolytes Needed
One of the important symbols in our worship spaces is the candle, sometimes called the Paschal candle or the Christ candle. It has a central spot where all worshipers can see it, reminding us that when we worship, we receive the light of Christ and when we leave worship, we carry the light of Christ out into the world. The role of the acolyte in worship is to bring the light in and then symbolically carry the light out. It’s a special job, but also one that everyone can do! We hope kids from 1st through 12th grade will participate in this way. If your child is interested in acolyting, please use the link below to sign up.
For questions, contact Emily Beaver.

Proclaiming the Year of Jubilee
In his first sermon, Jesus announces the Jubilee, a year of the Lord's favor. Where does this idea come from, and what does it mean? In this final session of four, Joel LeMon discusses the vision of economic justice in the Jubilee legislation in Leviticus 25 and how this message of justice features in Jesus’s word and witness.

The Devil in the Bible
Talk about the devil in church seems to lack decorum. And yet, the Scriptures have a lot to say about deception, temptation, and evil in the world. This week, Eric McDonnell explores the varied interpretations of evil in the Bible and the emerging portrait of God's adversary in the New Testament. We'll also tackle the question: What does any of this mean for the community of faith today?

Do you have a student away at College or Boarding School this semester? Our Youth Group would like to send them a care package! If you would like your student to receive one, please fill out the form below by THIS Sunday, October 25.
If your family ends up with more candy than you can handle, share the fun! Bring any extra Halloween candy to the Welcome Center table to be added to our college care packages.
