1.)   Registration for October Professional Development: Weathering the weather with little learners on Tuesday, October 11th from 6:00pm – 8:00pm
Our monthly Professional Development opportunity will be presented by Rachel Franz from Twig and Thread. She has joined us at our Professional Development Day the last two years. October’s Training will be held virtually on Tuesday, October 11th from 6pm – 8pm. Please see below for training title, description and link to register. There are unlimited spots for this training.

Weathering the weather with little learners:
In this workshop, educators will discover the joys of taking children outside in all weather.
Learn about how to layer children’s clothing, keep warm on the coldest days, and how to
meet learning standards in the meantime. Participants will come away with ideas for
prioritizing outdoor opportunities throughout the winter, even if it is cold, wet, and dark.

2.)  Early Learning Roundtable: Thursday, October 13th 4:00pm – 5:00pm - Kaymbu Demonstration
Please join for the next Early Learning Roundtable on Thursday, October 13th from 4:00pm – 5:00pm. We will be joined by Natalie Hanni from Kaymbu to demonstrate their screening and assessment tool. This will be a resource that interested programs will have access to through the Office of Catholic Schools.

Finding an assessment tool that is high-quality, easy-to-use and helps families feel connected to student learning can be difficult. The COR Advantage assessment, developed by HighScope Educational Research Foundation, is a whole-child assessment built on 36 items that are proven by research to best prepare children for school success. With the fewest items of any early childhood assessment and powered by Kaymbu’s user-friendly technology, COR Advantage saves teachers time, allowing them to focus on what matters most: students! Kaymbu with COR Advantage recognizes the importance family involvement plays in positive outcomes for children, and has created tools that not only helps teachers understand the complete picture of a child, but families too! Learn more about COR Advantage's strength-based, whole-child assessment and easy-to-use family engagement tools available in the platform here.

Experts from Butterfly Pediatrics will join us virtually to answer your questions and give resources/ideas about situations your programs are dealing with.

To make the most of our hour can you please email me at david.mayer@seattlearch.org  by Wednesday, October 19th any situation/example you are dealing with that you would like the experts from Butterfly Pediatrics to discuss during the virtual meeting. I will be sending these case studies in advance to the Butterfly team so they can be prepared to give you as much information as possible during our time together. Even if you are not able to join the meeting, you can still submit situations and we will record the conversations and send a recording link to all.
