Bristol, R.I. – Maple Sugaring Days will be returning to Coggeshall Farm in February and March. The museum will be hosting the annual tradition on February 22nd and 23rd, and on March 1st and 2nd. During Maple Sugaring Days, guests will be able to interact with the museum’s costumed historians and learn about the making and history of maple sugar.

Maple Sugaring Days allows guests to explore the farm and learn about the process of creating maple sugar from start to finish. Costumed historians will be demonstrating the steps in the maple sugaring process, including carving the spiles and tapping the trees, collecting the sap, and boiling it down to remove the water. Guests will be able to see heritage breed animals, talk with the historians, and take home fascinating new knowledge about the region’s history. In addition to educational programs, the museum will be hosting many hands-on activities during the Maple Sugaring Days. Guests can search the farm for maple trees and be a part of the tree-tapping process, participate in scavenger hunts, maple crafts, and games for children.

Admission is free for members and $10 for adults and $5 for kids (4 and under free).
