Hangxiety Explained: Why Drinking Can Trigger Next-Day Anxiety

Has your client ever felt on edge after a big night out? Hangxiety is a blend of the words “hangover” and “anxiety”, and encapsulates those experiences of dread, shame, and physical discomfort that one might experience after drinking alcohol. Honoring Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) Heritage Month

At our practice, we are deeply committed to serving and supporting communities across cultures. During AANHPI Heritage Month and throughout the year, we recognize the importance of culturally responsive care that honors each client’s lived experience, identity, and background.

Our team includes clinicians who speak Mandarin, Spanish, and other languages, helping create a more accessible and comfortable therapeutic experience for clients and families from diverse cultural backgrounds. We also have extensive experience supporting international students as they navigate challenges related to identity, acculturation, belonging, academic and work stress, and life transitions.

We strive to provide a space where clients feel seen, understood, and empowered to show up fully as themselves.
