He tends his flock like a shepherd:

He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart;

he gently leads those that have young.

New Beginnings: Construction Underway

for Antenatal Care Building

Hi Heather,

We’re happy to share some good news from Lifeline Malawi.

Thanks to the generous support of Mack Mackingham, Craigavon Presbyterian Church, and other kind-hearted friends in Northern Ireland, construction has begun on a much-needed antenatal care building at the Lifeline Health Centre. This new space will give expectant mothers a safe and welcoming place for check-ups, education, and support throughout their pregnancies.

Mack has spent the past month at Lifeline Malawi, personally overseeing the project and working closely with a small crew of skilled Malawian builders. We are so thankful for his hands-on leadership and heart for the ministry. His faith and commitment have brought this vision to life, brick by brick.

Each month, we welcome an average of 350 women to our antenatal clinics and support around 65 deliveries. Until now, these services have been squeezed into shared spaces—limiting privacy, comfort, and the capacity of our team to provide the level of care these women deserve.

This new building will allow us to:

  • Offer prenatal care in a private, well-equipped space
  • Create a comfortable waiting area for mothers and their partners
  • Improve access to screenings, education, and consultations
  • Ensure better ventilation, lighting, and cleanliness
  • Give our healthcare team the tools they need to deliver high-quality maternal care

Please join us in thanking God for His provision and praying for the the timely completion of this project. We are so grateful to Mack, Craigavon Presbyterian Church, and all who gave so generously to make this happen. Their compassion is planting seeds of health and hope for the hundreds of moms we serve in Malawi each year.

With heartfelt thanks,

Heather Brooks

More Than Medicine: Sharing Jesus Through Healthcare

We continue to see a steady flow of patient numbers at the Lifeline Malawi Health Centre, especially during the cooler months when respiratory illnesses are more common. In June, the Outpatient Department recorded 2,781 visits, and 67 babies were safely delivered at our maternity ward. Other departments—including Antenatal Care, HIV Services, Palliative Care, Under-Five Clinics, the laboratory, and the pharmacy—were also busy, each playing a vital role in meeting the medical needs of our community.

Medical care remains the central thrust of Lifeline Malawi’s work, meeting urgent physical needs—but it also opens doors to much deeper ministry. Everyone who walks through our gates encounters the love of Jesus in some way—whether through compassionate medical care, the morning devotions offered to patients waiting in reception, or the prayer and counseling provided by our volunteer pastors. Each day, people come not only for treatment, but seeking hope, healing, and a touch from God. It’s a beautiful reminder that healthcare can be a bridge to deeper faith and spiritual transformation.

Restoring Hope Through Palliative Care:

Dyson’s Story

When Dyson first came to Lifeline Malawi Health Centre, hope felt out of reach. He was facing a serious illness and didn’t have the means to travel for the care he urgently needed. That’s when our Reach Out and Touch (ROAT) Palliative Care Program stepped in.

Because of your generous support, Dyson received transport assistance to travel to a central hospital for a critical CT scan. He’s now scheduled for two important follow-up appointments this month—visits that would have been impossible without your help.

Dyson recently returned to Lifeline Malawi, not for treatment, but simply to say thank you. With a big smile and a heart full of gratitude, he shared how this support has given him a second chance—something he never thought possible.

Thank you for making this kind of care possible. Your kindness brings hope, dignity, and healing to people like Dyson when they need it most.

A Journey of Faith and Healing:

Mrs. Changa’s Testimony

Since September 2024, Mrs. Changa, an elderly woman from our community, has walked to Lifeline Malawi three times a week—not for medication, but for morning devotions, prayer, and spiritual counseling.

For eight years, she suffered from chronic asthma, high blood pressure, ulcers, and migraines. Her health declined so severely that she became bedridden and had to be eventually brought to the clinic by ox-cart.

But everything changed on September 22, 2024, when she turned to God in prayer. Through devotions and consistent spiritual support, she experienced remarkable healing. Today, she walks unaided, manages her home, and lives free of pain—continually praising God for His mercy.

Your support makes stories like this possible. Thank you for helping us care for the whole person—body, mind, and spirit.

Reach Out and Touch (ROAT):

Restoring Dignity

Our ROAT team visited eight vulnerable households in June 2025, offering prayer, devotions, encouragement, and giving much needed practical household items. One visit, to Nabanda, an elderly widow, stood out.

Following the loss of her husband, cultural customs required her to remain indoors for two months. Even after that period, she stayed isolated and hadn’t attended church or heard God’s Word in months. When our team arrived with Scripture, prayer, and relief items, she was overwhelmed.

“I felt forgotten,” she said. “But now I know God still sees me. My soul has been hungry for His Word—and today, I have been fed.”

Moments like these are heartwarming for all of us a Lifeline Malawi— small acts of compassion that bring light and love into dark and quiet corners.

A Heartfelt Celebration of Violet’s 60th Birthday

On June 14, we celebrated Violet’s 60th birthday with great joy. Violet has served faithfully as our Head Nurse for over 20 years and is greatly loved by her family, the staff, and the community. Her life radiates the love and grace of Jesus, and it was an honour to mark this milestone with her.

It is hard to believe that Violet is 60!

Will you pray with us?

We invite you to pray with us for these important needs:

Thanksgiving and Prayer Requests

  • Thanksgiving: We’re deeply thankful for the generous funding of the new antenatal building by our partners in Northern Ireland. We pray that God will bless their efforts as they continue raising the remaining funds.

  • Youth: Please pray for the youth in our community, especially girls, who face pressure to leave school for early marriage. May they resist these lies, avoid substance abuse, and find strength in the Holy Spirit as they grow in faith.

  • Staff: We give thanks for Violet and her 22 years of compassionate, faithful service to the community.

  • Leadership: Please pray for God’s guidance in raising up the next leader of Lifeline Malawi when the time comes. May the right person be prepared and brought forward in God’s perfect timing.

  • Travel: Please pray that Heather Brooks and Steve Russell will be able to make a trip to Malawi in the coming months.

Thank you for standing with us in prayer!

Closing words

As we look ahead, we remain confident that God will continue to lead and sustain the work of Lifeline Malawi. Thank you for walking alongside us. Your prayers, encouragement, and generosity are touching lives in profound and lasting ways.

May you know God’s rich blessings in your own life—His peace, His joy, and His faithful presence with you each day.

With heartfelt thanks,

Heather Brooks
