Welcome CGCIO™ and CPTM Graduates and Alumni,

Joining our Alumni Association is an intelligent and worthwhile decision!

Thank you for participating in our newly formed CGCIO™ and CPTM Certified Alumni Program. This new forum provides many opportunities for our graduates to actively participate in CGCIO™ and CPTM functions, events, activities, and ongoing philanthropic efforts. More information can be obtained on the CGCIOFlorida.com website under the “Certified Alumni” Section.

In addition, for the nominal annual fee to be a member, your name will still appear as a “Certified Professional,” and you will receive the “Certified Alumni” designation instead of the active “Certified Through” year designation.

Exclusively for Alumni: Announcing the Upcoming Webinar Roundtable and Workshop Series Beginning on September 25, 2024

Our CGCIO™ and CPTM Graduates asked for it…and we listened! Many regularly share that they miss the structured peer learning and sharing dynamics from their classroom after completing the program year. In response, we developed a new monthly series to further our mission to further our members' combined personal and professional development needs. Designed for the busy IT Leader, the workshops are only an hour long but will contain updated discussions and educational materials from the current programs.

Our first in the series is entitled "Bringing Humanity to Technology" and will cover shared insights and experiences on IT hiring practices, developing a shared culture of high performance, and even touching upon how artificial intelligence may impact it all

This workshop series is being provided to Alumni Members as a tangible opportunity to network and discuss real-world issues that public sector IT Leaders are actively dealing with today. Plus, you will earn CGCIO™ recertification hours for your attendance and participation!

Attendee spots are limited. If you are interested in attending, please register for the first workshop today!

Alumni Leadership Committee in Action!

Many thanks to all who joined us at the Annual FLGISA Conference July 15-18 at the Diplomat Beach Resort in Hollywood, Florida! We had an incredible number of visitors plus new member registration thanks to the diligent effort of your Alumni Association Leadership Committee and your overwhelming interest.

Two distinguished members from our Alumni Association Leadership Committee, Justin Meetoo (’21) and Harold Schomaker (’07), staffed our welcome and registration table and extolled the many virtues associated with interested parties becoming members themselves. What better ambassadors than two individuals who believe in the call to service of their peers and fellow graduates?

Congratulations to the CGCIO™ Graduation Class of 2024!

Adding to the quality and excitement of the FLGISA 2024 Annual Conference in July, twenty (20) local government professionals demonstrated their highly competent leadership by successfully completing rigorous course requirements and developing a business case to create tangible personal and organizational value. Each graduate gave a professional presentation to a packed room of attendees of their graduate-peer-reviewed Capstone Project topic, which held impressive value to the participants, their organizations, their citizens, and our industry.  Remarkable work, folks!

Please join us in congratulating these hard-working individuals who have now earned their designation as a CGCIO™:

Every three years after graduation, CGCIO™ Certified individuals must complete 120 hours of approved recertification hours to remain current on relevant trends in leadership, business, public service, and technology. Recertification demonstrates that our CGCIO™ Grads hold the skills required to take an active role at the executive table, maintain key interpersonal relationships between technology departments and other departments, and raise the overall professionalism of the technology industry.

We are proud to recognize our Alumni who recently demonstrated their recommitment to ongoing education and our programs by achieving their CGCIO™ Recertification requirements for 2024-2027. Our group of twenty (20) Alumni include, from left to right:
