Happy New Year — and welcome to 2026!

A new year always brings fresh energy, renewed focus and an opportunity to reset how we show up — both personally and professionally. As we turn the calendar to 2026, it’s the perfect moment to pause, reflect, and think intentionally about how we want to be seen, heard and remembered.

In this January edition of the PR Maven Monthly Newsletter, I’ve curated a collection of articles I’ve published recently that I believe will be especially helpful as you plan for the year ahead. These pieces span a wide range of timely and practical topics — from celebrating the holidays on a budget, to writing press releases that can be discovered in an AI-powered search environment, to modern-day “tricks of the trade” that every communicator should have in their toolkit. I’ve also included insights and ideas to help you shape smart resolutions for stronger PR and marketing in 2026.

Each of these articles was hand-chosen with you in mind — to help you stay relevant, visible, and credible as you build your personal brand and connect with your targeted audiences. Whether you’re leading an organization, growing a business or managing your own professional reputation, my goal is to give you ideas and tools you can put to work right away.

Here’s to a healthy, happy and successful new year — and to making 2026 your most strategic and impactful year yet.

Warm regards,

Nancy Marshall

Tip of the Month

January is the perfect time to audit your website. Go through each page and make sure that all the information is up to date and current. Do your headshots need to be refreshed? Do you have announcements about events that have already passed? Your website visitors will think that you don’t pay attention to details if you aren’t keeping your own website updated and current. Make sure your branding is up to date and consistent in colors, images and tone of voice.
