Spring in coming to a close but

Summer is ramping up!

Spring Bike Sessions Wrap-Up

& Summer Camp Reminder

Our Spring Bike Sessions are wrapping up, with the final week taking place June 21. The kids battled a few bugs but were treated to remarkable weather throughout the program!

A huge thank you to our incredible coaches for creating such an amazing experience on the trails, and to all the participants and parents for being a part of the program again this year.

Looking ahead, we still have limited availability in Week 6 (August 18–22) of our Summer Bike Camps. We have an outstanding coaching team lined up and cannot wait to get more kids out on the trails.

Tee Pads Are Going in the Ground

Exciting news—tee pads are being installed on the disc golf course! These upgrades will greatly improve the experience for all players.

A big thank you to Central Builders for their support in supplying the materials, and to the City of Prince George and the myPG Community Grant for funding support that made this project possible.

The biggest shoutout goes to Jim Van Bakel, who has been the driving force behind the installations. While he started with some help from Aaron O’Hearn and John Bowes, Jim quickly found his groove and has been powering through most of the work on his own.

Be sure to thank him when you see him—and enjoy the new pads out on the course! (He is the one with the sore back)

Singletracks are outstanding

(You don't even notice the mosquitos)

The singletrack trails are in fantastic shape—just keep moving and the mosquitoes will not catch you! Thanks to our incredible volunteers who have been out clearing fallen trees and keeping the trails open, and to all the riders who have pitched in by raking as they go when they come across a trail rake.

Do not let the bugs stop you from enjoying some of the best riding conditions of the season. Get out there and enjoy the trails!

Reminder: Draft Bylaws Open for Member Review Until June 30

As many of you know, the Caledonia Nordic Ski Club’s current bylaws were last updated in 2011. Since then, the club has grown significantly, and changes to the BC Societies Act in 2016 — along with further amendments in 2023 — mean our current bylaws are no longer fully compliant or reflective of our club’s evolving needs.

In response, a member-led Bylaw Review Committee was formed following the June 28, 2023 extraordinary meeting of members. This committee — made up of Tim Roots, Dave Snadden, Barry Booth, Dave Nelson, and Gretchen Prystawik — has worked diligently through the winter of 2025 to prepare a revised set of bylaws.

After thorough research and consultation, a draft of updated bylaws is now available for review:

Draft CNSC Updated Bylaws for Member Review

(Revisions are highlighted in blue, with notes explaining the rationale behind each change.)

We are now inviting member feedback through the following form:

Member Feedback Form

(Open until June 30, 2025)

All input will be carefully considered before a final version is presented for a ratification vote at the October 22, 2025 Annual General Meeting.

If passed, the new bylaws will lay the foundation for a broader modernization of the club’s policies and procedures, to be led by the 2025–26 Board of Directors.

Thank you for taking the time to support the future governance of your club!
