Important Tax Collection Information

Morehead City has entered an agreement with Carteret County for our tax collection, and bills were mailed in late August. This means that tax payments will no longer be paid directly to, or at, City Hall.

View our video on the new tax collection method for some answers to common questions concerning this new collection method.

Taxes are delinquent if they are not paid in full by January 6th, 2025. Both Morehead City and Carteret County taxes will appear on the same bill, and a payment plan is available.
