The Genesis of

Tucker Hockey

Part 3

Four Part Mini Series walking you through how Tucker Hockey came to be!

Part 3 details a decade of many challenges, rejection letters, failures and overall disappointments for Rex during his journey in the hockey world.

Rex got knocked down during these years, but always managed to get up to go one more round. It was a true test of his resilience as well as his love and passion for hockey.

Interesting Fact!

Did you know that Coach Rex instructed power skating in Europe for 5 summers from 1997 to 2001?

Tucker Hockey Tips

Consistent vs. Reactive Development

We are what we repeatedly do – excellence then – is not an act –

but a habit.

~ Aristotle

Too often in hockey, players get cut from a desired team and do not reach their goals. Unfortunately, many players and parents realize too late that extra development was certainly needed to reach and play at this higher level of the game.

At this point some parents scramble to get their child extra development. This is a reactive development approach.

Alternatively, it is good to consider a proactive consistent development approach. This offers the child steady development and will certainly help improve the odds of advancing out of community hockey if that is their desire.

Christmas Greetings

from Tucker Hockey!

As the 2021 year draws to a close and the festive holidays are upon us; we wish to extend our “sincere and heartfelt gratitude” to each of you for helping us get through another challenging year.

We have all withstood unprecedented challenges in the face of the ongoing COVID – 19 pandemic. This pandemic has been a mean one! Yes, it’s been “The Mr. Grinch of the Year Again”! As cuddly as a cactus you might say!!

In this spirit, as we approach the end of another year, our 19^th year as a full time hockey operation, we'd like to extend a very warm "thank you" to all of our loyal supporters:

Our hockey industry related partners such as the City of Calgary Parks & Recreation, Crowchild Twin Arenas and Thorncliffe Community Arena who enable us to offer our many hockey services to young and not so young hockey enthusiasts.

Our many minor hockey associations, adult recreational leagues, teams, related friends and colleagues who have become our good will ambassadors in the local community.

And last; but certainly not least, our valued and loyal adult and minor hockey program participants who we proudly serve and help on their quests for hockey enjoyment, education, and success.

Cheers to more glide in your stride in 2022!

The Tucker Hockey Team wishes you and your family the Happiest of Holidays as well as a Healthy, Happy and Prosperous New Year!

Best wishes,

Yours in Hockey,

Tucker Hockey Team
