We are looking forward to hosting Master Sommelier Fred Dame this Wednesday evening as we taste through a selection of Daou Vineyards from Paso Robles. You can imagine that it would take a very unique opportunity to persuade a global icon of the wine industry to join your winery's team as their Global Wine Ambassador, and the Daou brothers Daniel & George were able to do that starting in 2018.

Fred described this as the perhaps the final chapter of his career, "When you combine the Daou brothers’ extraordinary vision and culture, with the ideal conditions and developing potential of the Mountain, you can imagine my delight in becoming part of this extraordinary winery and its quest to produce the ultimate wines in terms of grace, structure and complexity"

DAOU VINEYARDS
The Adelaidia District is the most northwestern of Paso's 11 districts. Its mountainous topography, calcerous, white chalky rock & limestone allows for great drainage and encourages vines roots to grow deep seeking out water in the warm summers.

The Terroir
Daou's vineyards sit above the coastal fog, with a light ocean breeze feeding through the Templeton Gap. The above average rain fall is absorbed well by the mountainside's sedimentary rock below
Now, I want you to know I am over the top excited about the opportunity to taste these delicious wines with you. Daou has an incredible reputation for showcasing THE BEST of Paso Robles... But, having Master Somm Fred Dame with us on our Zoom call and offering you his insight into what about this region, this mountain, this vineyard & winery made him excited enough, that he joined their team!
I believe, will make this a singularly unique wine memory, that we will share for years to come!.

With that in mind, we will be presenting the wines in our Winemaker series packaging using 2 oz Glass bottles, individually labeled & boxed. This takes us a little longer to produce so we may not be able to accommodate last minute requests to join, so PLEASE consider calling today or emailing your reservations early to avoid missing this tasting!
