Wendy is proud to support Baraka Impact by carrying handmade Bolga Baskets and hats, thus supporting women crafters in Ghana as well as another Vancouver Island company.

Wendy is celebrating Little Mountain Soap's 2nd Anniversary by holding a great sale this weekend. Make sure you check it out!

Qualicum Beach Time Capsule:

Eaglecrest Lodge

Here's a more tragic 'before and after' of the famous Eaglecrest Lodge, and a photo of the fire in 1969. To Read more about this Building click HERE

In 1934 General McCrae purchased 260 acres of property on what is now known as the Eaglecrest subdivision.

The original Eaglecrest Lodge, an imposing log construction, took two years to build. The main house was 10,000 square feet, and 26 feet to the peaked ceiling. There were four giant stone fireplaces. In addition to the main house there was a separate servants quarters, farm house, and barn. There was a network of bridle paths, orchards, and a productive farm. Many prominent people were guests there, including Princess Elizabeth and the Duke of Edinburgh in 1951. Under new ownership, the lodge burned down in 1969 and in spite of the efforts of the fire fighters and lodge guests with pails of water, it could not be saved. It was rebuilt and functioned as a resort and the rest of the land was subdivided. The lodge burned down again in 1981 and was never rebuilt.
