Sunday, October 18th: Back to Acts
This week we return to Acts, picking up where we left off in chapter 14. To remind us where we are in the narrative, we will recap the entire book thus far. What is the church? How did it come into being? Join us this week as we recap our study of Acts that we began back in 2021.
| | Daily Prayers, Digging Deeper Guide and Sermon Notes that include Weekly Updates, Discussion Questions, and Response Suggestions are available each week on Sunday to further explore this Sermon Series. You can find those resources (for this week and ALL previous weeks) HERE or at the Welcome Center on Sunday. | |

This week in Adventure: Kids, the Explorers and Investigators classrooms will be learning the story of Abraham submitting to Lot. They’ll discuss the importance of humility. Submission means giving up our own way, and Abraham’s willingness to let Lot choose first showed his trust in God to provide for him.
“So Abram said to Lot, ‘There should be no arguing between you and me. Your herders and mine should not argue either. We are brothers.’”
-Genesis 13:8
Meanwhile, the Adventurers and Trailblazers classrooms will be learning about how Abraham believed in God. They’ll discover how Abraham trusted God’s promises of children, even when he couldn’t see how they would come true.
“Is anything too hard for the Lord?”
-Genesis 18:4a
We can't wait to see you this Sunday!

BaseCamp Session 1
Wednesday, October 7th at 5:45pm
We are really looking forward to another year of BaseCamp! Join us around the table each Wednesday at 5:45 as we equip, encourage, support & challenge each other into the mission God calls us to in every aspect of our lives. We will participate in a family style meal paired with questions and activities to help us connect and engage in Jesus-centered discussion and fellowship. This year our focus will be centered on how Jesus did not invite people to merely believe in Him. He invited them to follow him.
If you are interested in joining us or have any questions, start by checking out the updated details about BaseCamp and find the registration link HERE.
Youth (6th grade and up) are welcome to come early and hang out with us in the Café anytime after 2:00 PM. We’ll check in together for dinner. If your teen comes early, they will need to stay with us until a parent comes to pick them up (if they are leaving before the end of Basecamp) or until Basecamp ends.
Dinner:
Dinner next Wednesday will be Enchilada Casserole, Salad, and Sopapilla Bars for dessert! We will have allergen free versions for those of you who have communicated specific food allergies.

Thanksgiving Baskets, Christmas Baskets, & Giving Tree
Our Outreach and Deacon teams are partnering together to help provide food for individuals and families in need during Thanksgiving & Christmas, and Christmas gifts for children in need. If you or someone in the church or community are in need of a food basket or Christmas gifts for kids, and are accepting of the help, please provide them with the link to this form to fill out.. Copies of this form will also be available at the Welcome Center. Please make sure this is filled out and returned to Adventure of Faith Church by November 8th.
If you would like to support this ministry, you can donate to the Thanksgiving & Christmas Basket Fund, by visiting our Giving Page and selecting that fund from the drop down menu. We also have the option this year to contribute to a Giving Tree fund so we can collaboratively get presents for tags that need filling. This section is a weekly reminder that God is Good!
He is good to us every single day & we will praise His name!
| | |
"For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen."
-Ephesians 3:14-21

This space in the newsletter is a small way we continue to celebrate the goodness of God all year long, and practice being aware of His presence in our lives. So, if you have stories of God's goodness big or small, hit reply to this email and send them our way. We would love to hear them, pray in praise over them and talk to you about sharing them.
To spur thoughts on God's goodness, consider asking yourself these questions:
What Good have you witnessed recently?
What Good has God brought into your life?
What Good has God prompted you to do for one another?
God is Good!!
