ESGAA Men Head to Gaelic Park for Dads & Lads Tournament!

You Can Still Join Up for the Game

The Essex Shillelaghs GAA Men's Team is gearing up for a great afternoon of football, camaraderie, and craic at the New York GAA Dads & Lads Tournament on Saturday, November 7th, at Gaelic Park in the Bronx.

The ESGAA men's team is officially registered, and we're looking for a few more players to join the squad!

Open to players 35 years of age and older, the tournament promises a fun, relaxed atmosphere where the emphasis is on enjoying the game rather than winning the All-Ireland!

Registration begins at 2:30 PM, with the first game at 3:00 PM.

Whether you're a seasoned player or haven't kicked a football in years, we'd love to have you join us!

Interested in playing? Contact ESGAA Men's Manager Frank McKeon at 917-417-9014 to get in on the action!

It's not the All-Ireland — just a bit of craic!

Celebrate the Magic of Christmas at the Shillelagh Children's Christmas Party!

The Friendly Sons of the Shillelagh invite you and your family to join us for our Annual Children's Christmas Party on Sunday, December 6, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Shillelagh Club Hall, 684 Prospect Avenue, West Orange, NJ.

Get ready for an afternoon filled with candy canes, cocoa, Christmas cheer, games, crafts, holiday singing, and a very special visit from Santa Claus!

This beloved holiday tradition brings together families and friends from across our Irish-American community to celebrate the season and create wonderful memories for our little ones.

A Few Ways to Share the Christmas Spirit:

Santa's Gift Giving: Parents are asked to bring a wrapped and labeled gift (valued under $25) for Santa to personally present to their child.
Holiday Toy Drive: Help us spread the joy of Christmas to children in need by donating an unwrapped toy or Target gift card.

All friends and families of Essex County Irish organizations are warmly welcome!

Registration is requested so we can prepare for all our young guests. Please complete the

Christmas Party registration form to let us know you're coming.

Capture the Holiday Spirit!

Free Family Photos at the Shillelagh Club

Get the family together and bring your holiday smiles! The Essex Shillelaghs GAA invites all ESGAA families to a FREE Holiday Family Photo Day on Sunday, November 22, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, at the Shillelagh Club, 684 Prospect Avenue, West Orange.

Our very own Janet Burke has generously volunteered her time and talents to capture beautiful family holiday photos, just in time for Christmas cards and seasonal greetings! All photos will be made available online for families to download at no charge.

In the spirit of giving, families are asked to bring an unwrapped toy to support the Shillelagh Club's Annual Christmas Toy Drive, helping bring holiday joy to children in need.

It's a wonderful opportunity to capture a family memory, celebrate the season with our Shillelagh community, and give back to those less fortunate.

Mark your calendars, bring the family, and don't forget a toy!

Happy Holidays from the Essex Shillelaghs GAA!

Shi-Ladies Return from Friendship Tour 2026

Essex Shi-Ladies Celebrate a Memorable Friendship Tour of Ireland!

The Essex Shillelaghs GAA Shi-Ladies have returned from an unforgettable 2026 Friendship Tour of Ireland, filled with Gaelic football, Irish hospitality, camaraderie, and memories that will last a lifetime!

The tour brought our ladies to Belfast and County Wicklow, where they took to the pitch against Ó Donnabháin Rosa GAA and Manor Kilbride GAA. Beyond the football, the trip celebrated the friendships, traditions, and shared Irish heritage that make the GAA community so special.

A special thank you to Coach and Manager Charlie Glaws for his leadership, dedication, and tireless efforts in making this tour a success. Our sincere appreciation also goes to Tip Top Tours for helping deliver a wonderful Irish experience and to our generous sponsor, Two Stacks Irish Whiskey, for supporting the Shi-Ladies and their continued growth.

We also want to thank the Friendly Sons of the Shillelagh and the Women of Irish Heritage for their generous support.

Most importantly, congratulations to our players for representing the Essex Shillelaghs and our Irish-American community with pride, enthusiasm, and sportsmanship.

The Friendship Tour may be over, but the friendships and memories will endure for years to come!

Up the Shi-Ladies!
