Friend of 600,

A Florida man has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for killing two cats.

After a three-day trial, a jury convicted him of two counts of aggravated animal cruelty and two counts of aggravated stalking.

The judge imposed four consecutive five-year prison terms, along with an order for no contact with animals and a DNA sample.

The cats were shot in the woods, and their severed heads were later found in a mailbox.

Investigators recovered video showing the cats being shot in the woods.

The next day, their severed heads were found in a gasoline-soaked box left on a mailbox.

This verdict is a victory.

It shows that cruelty can be punished and that animals can receive justice under the law.

But punishment happens after an animal has already suffered.

To protect more animals, we must also work to prevent the suffering before it begins.

The world's 600 million stray dogs and 87 million stray cats give birth to over 1 billion homeless puppies and kittens every year.

Tragically, those who survive, also reproduce and give birth to another generation of homeless strays - thus repeating the cycle of suffering, every year.

Our mission is to end the #1 cause of suffering and death for dogs and cats — overpopulation — by developing a Cookie that will only need to be eaten one time, and it will, in effect, spay or neuter — without surgery.

Thank you for caring and for helping animals!

Sincerely,
