Dear Friends of the Cathedral Heritage Foundation,

We are looking forward to taking a pause this week to count our blessings and express our gratitude to those special people in our lives.

We are always grateful for your support and engagement in our ongoing mission to preserve the Cathedral of Saint Paul – a masterpiece of art and architecture, an icon on St. Paul’s skyline, and the spiritual home for Twin Cities Catholics – as a community treasure open and welcoming to all.

Mark, Jerry and Paul Capecchi

Speaking of giving thanks,

we extend a heartfelt "Thank You" to the Joseph A. Capecchi family who presented an inaugural "Cathedral Art Lecture" on the works of their grandfather, Joseph A. Capecchi. This event was a memorable event for all who attended. We plan to post an edited version of the lecture on the CHF website at a later date, but we have included a few photos below to give you a taste of the highlights. A special thanks to Joseph Capecchi's grandsons, Mark, Jerry, and Paul, who pulled all of their research, sketches, film, audio, and personal memories into a rich, captivating presentation.

Now we are on to our next community-building event, the Cathedral Christmas Festival,5-9:30 p.m., Dec. 7-9. It will include a European Christmas market in the Cathedral Courtyard and two concerts by Steven C, on Thursday and Friday. A choir from the University of Mary, from Bismark, North Dakota, will perform on Saturday, along with five area high school choirs.

Reserve your ticket now by clicking on a concert date below.

This is an important community friend-raiser and fundraiser for the ongoing restoration of the Cathedral. The Villager newspaper featured Steven C and the Cathedral Christmas Festival in this week's edition. It's exceptional and we share it below. We hope to see you there!

Come all ye faithful

Pianist Steven C fills the Cathedral with the sounds and spirit of Christmas

By Anne Murphy

The night before Steven C. Anderson’s annual Christmas Together concerts at the Saint Paul Cathedral, there is a special delivery. His beloved Bösendorfer grand piano “goes on its back with three movers,” Anderson said. “I have them take it into the Cathedral so it has a day to get used to the temperature.”

A good turnout for our inaugural for the story of the Cathedral's "Michelangelo."
