Ketamine Concerns

A recent article out of the New York Post describes Ketamine as the next "wild west" of prescription drugs to hit the market, linking it to another potential crisis, similar to that of opioids. "Prescriptions for ketamine have soared in recent years, driven by for-profit clinics and telehealth services offering the medication as a treatment for pain, depression, anxiety and other conditions. With limited research on its effectiveness against pain, some experts worry the U.S. may be repeating mistakes that gave rise to the opioid crisis: overprescribing a questionable drug that carries significant safety and abuse risks."

"Convenience stores in Washington D.C., Philadelphia, New York and other cities remain fully stocked with the brightly colored vapes, sold in fruity flavors and claiming to contain 5,000 “puffs” per device."
