Greetings!
Welcome back to the school year. Thanks to everyone who has been working so hard these past several months to keep the wheels of K-12 education rolling forward! This steep remote learning curve that we’ve all been climbing has proven to be a formidable challenge, but one that we are rising to tackle together.
This summer, through flexibility and innovation, the CEEE smoothly reconfigured its annual CEEE Economics Education Conference for K-12 educators, its Mini-Society training for elementary school teachers, and its Keys to Financial Success professional development for high school-- all for remote delivery. The latter, conducted with our Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia partners, was re-designed as an enhanced and effective virtual, month-long course. Beyond the K-12 community, we managed to adeptly move the second summer of the Master of Arts in Economics and Entrepreneurship for Educators (MAEEE) degree program to a virtual offering, ensuring that all enrolled could continue their academic coursework on schedule. MAEEE extends a unique opportunity for graduate study to teachers throughout the world, and is now accepting applications for its Class of 2023 cohort. We invite those interested to explore what it means to join a network of economic education leaders, now 460+ strong.
As before, our work remains focused on helping teachers underscore the importance of economics as a framework for all decision making, and we are committed to providing leadership in education that will help young learners make this year’s crisis relatable to their own financial well-being. Already, we have moved from doing what's necessary to doing what’s possible. Eventually, with mutual encouragement and preparation, we hope to soon accomplish what was once seemingly impossible. Good change is already being made and we look forward to real and continued progress together.
Onward!
