Dear Mr. Weinstein and the Military Religious Freedom Foundation,

I would like to start out by respectfully asking that none of my personal identification information (other than what is revealed below) be used nor that of the military members and civilians under my supervision who are joining me in this complaint.

For the record, I am speaking for 9 military and civilian members of our Directorate. Six of us, including me, are Christians. The other 3 are Jewish, Buddhist and Agnostic. I am a junior officer, active duty.

Any public identification would cause irreparable damage to my career and the careers of those who are joining me in this complaint to the MRFF (and probably worse consequences than just to our careers.)

I wanted to confirm that I first reached out to you and the MRFF in late December of last year as a result of the constant barrage of proselytizing by our direct military supervisor regarding the then initial build up of Russian forces around the borders of Ukraine.

I supervise about a dozen folks in our Directorate at (name of military installation and command withheld).

My direct supervisor is a “very serious Christian” as he tells us all the time in staff meetings. We’ve met his wife and she shares her husband’s religious views as anyone who talked to her would find out in the first minute or so of meeting her.

It was in these same staff meetings that he first began “explaining" to us all that the moves Russian President Putin was making towards invading Ukraine were all “clearly prophesied” in the New Testament particularly the Book of Revelation.

He further “explained” that we should not be afraid or concerned because “The Lord was in control” and that Putin's war moves were ordained by “The Lord” and just another clear sign that the “End Times had arrived and we had all better get right with Jesus” immediately while there was still time to do so.

Naturally myself and most of our staff meeting attendees were shocked at these statements by our Directorate supervisor who is a field grade officer in the (service branch withheld).

What was particularly alarming was the obvious happiness and actual delight that he showed when further describing the "carnage which will surely occur” as the world ends to accept Jesus’ return.

When the actual war in Ukraine started last week he doubled down on his staff meeting sermonizing and his pleasure and satisfaction at what we were all seeing about Russia’s chaotic and bloody invasion on TV. He has TV news on all day in in our Directorate common area and he only allows Fox News to be shown.

One last thing Mr. Weinstein please. And I want to emphasize this. It’s not like we can make a formal IG complaint about this matter because we ARE the IG element for our (large military unit designation withheld).
