Dear Lower School Families,

Thank you for joining us yesterday and today for Parent-Teacher Conferences. If you have any remaining questions, please don’t hesitate to contact the teachers to get your questions answered. While we recognize that many families would find it more convenient to have the conferences online, we appreciate your understanding that, for lower school students, the conference is not nearly as comprehensive online. Coming in person allows you to see your children’s work and their place in the classroom. If you chose not to schedule a time to discuss your children’s academic progress and social development this week, the next parent conferences will be on January 14-15, 2027.

Swimming Reminder

As a general rule, if children are well enough to attend school, we expect them to fully participate in swimming class. If your children need to temporarily sit out for a medical reason, please provide a signed note from their doctor explaining the accommodation before the swim class happens. Thank you for your support and cooperation.

Morning Carline

To help keep our morning carline moving efficiently, please have your children ready to exit the vehicle as soon as you come to a stop. If your children are not ready to get out (we all have those moments), please pull into the athletics parking lot and walk them to the building entrance. Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our dropoff line running smoothly!

Fall Celebration and Halloween on Friday

In mid-September, you received this letter with the details for our Fall Celebration scheduled for Friday, October 30. All specific grade-level details have also been shared. The information provided in the letter will help you select an appropriate costume and plan your day accordingly. Due to parade gridlock on the Lazarus Courtyard, students will make just one loop before heading back into their classrooms.

9:45 a.m. – Explorer-PreK Class Parties

10:15-10:45 a.m. – Parent Cider Social (Explorer-PreK)

11:00 a.m. – Explorer-PreK Parade

1:45-2:30 p.m. – Parent Cider Social (Kindergarten-Grade 5)

2:30 p.m. – Parade (Kindergarten-Grade 5)

Students come to school in their costumes, so please plan accordingly as they will wear them all day. Please review our costume guidelines before sending your children to school on Friday, October 30:

  • No weapons (real or pretend) of any kind are allowed
  • No inflatable (blow-up) costumes that require batteries or fans
  • Costumes must be respectful of other cultures and people
  • No blood or gory costumes
  • Faces must be visible (cannot wear a mask that hides the face completely)
  • It is important to remember that we have Explorers through Grade 5 students, and we want to ensure a fun and appropriate environment for all of our community
