FRIDAY FLASH

August 5, 2022

A Note from Headmaster Scott

Dear Archway Trivium Families,

Yesterday we opened, or rather reopened, Archway Trivium. For the past seven years we have striven to remain united across two campuses. There is no longer East and West. We are one Trivium. I was not privileged to work at the original Trivium, but I did help found Archway Trivium East and have been with Archway Trivium West during its final two years. In uniting Trivium, we have added about 360 students, including a little over half of the Archway Trivium East community. We hired 50 new faculty members and built a very expensive building in order to bring about this work. We have plenty of opportunity for factions and tribalism, which is why we must actively resist any form of divisiveness.

In a favorite poem by Leigh Hunt, Abou Ben Adhem asks an angel if his name was recorded as one who loves the Lord. When the angel tells him no, Abou makes a simple request—“I pray thee, then, write me as one that loves his fellow men.” As this year of unity begins, let us follow Abou’s example and strive to be one who loves our fellow man. This will be the most direct path to becoming one Trivium in name and in deed.

Heartily Devoted,

Clay Scott

Traffic Flow for Student Drop-off/Pick-up

With the expansion of Archway and addition of the new building, there are significant changes to the traffic flow for the upcoming school year. Please carefully review the new Archway Traffic Flow for Student Drop-off and Pick-up and reach out with any questions. Taking the time to understand these procedures will help to ensure the safety of our students/staff and a smooth traffic flow.

IMPORTANT: Please follow the link below to review the DETAILED Archway Traffic Flow Plan and be sure to share this link with anyone authorized to drop-off/pick-up your children.

*View the DETAILED Archway Traffic Flow Procedures*

General Reminders:

  • Morning Drop-off is from 7:20-7:47 AM. Parents who wish to drop-off earlier must enroll in Early Drop-off Club.
  • Parents in the drop-off/pick-up zone must remain in their vehicle. Faculty will assist students exiting their vehicles, however, faculty are not allowed to assist students with car seats, so parents are highly encouraged to practice prior to the start of the year so that students are able to do that independently.
  • Please have your PINK or YELLOW pick-up card clearly displayed on your dashboard during pick-up to help keep our process running smoothly. Pick-up cards will be handed out at Meet the Teacher in your oldest Archway child's classroom.
  • Due to limited parking, there will be NO walk-up option for student drop-off/pick-up at this time.
  • Parents with both Archway and Prep students, please review the pick-up procedure with your Trivium Prep students before the first day of school emphasizing the importance of arriving to the Archway Pick-up/Drop-off Zone promptly after school to be ready to load into your vehicle.
