Inclement Weather procedures and what you need to know
|
Winter weather will soon be upon us. When deciding whether to close schools, several factors are considered, including the amount of snowfall, the condition of residential and thoroughfare roads, temperature, and the ability to clear parking lots and sidewalks. We work closely with the weather service, and our team members personally travel the roads before making a final decision.
If school is canceled or the arrival/dismissal time is affected, an announcement will be made through our communication system using phone, text, and email; postings on social media and cjr1.org, and our local television stations. To ensure that you will receive notification, verify that your parent information is up to date in Parent Portal.

JH collects food and supplies for Fostering Hope
|
Each year the National Junior Honor Society at the Junior High holds a Thanksgiving food drive in November. This year's food drive was a huge success. The Junior High collected over 1700 items that benefited Fostering Hope in Carl Junction. Along with the canned food, families also received a gift card for a turkey. We are so proud of our staff and students for an amazing turnout this year. We were honored to be able to partner with Fostering Hope. Our officers delivered the collected canned goods on the Friday before Thanksgiving break.
Thank you to all who donated and made this year's food drive successful. We are so proud of our students at the Junior High.
