The Joy Bus would like to say a huge thank you to The Diamondbacks along with Derrick and Amy Hall for honoring us with The Ken Kendrick Grand Slam Award on the International Day of Joy! We were so grateful to be able to celebrate with our amazing volunteers, board members, and staff in the Owner’s Suite. It was a once in a lifetime opportunity that we are so thankful to have experienced!

The Joy Bus Diner may be closed until August 4th but our team is still working hard to get patient meals prepared and delivered each week and the fun doesn't stop!
We've had some super rad visitors within the last month, did you guys see the Top Chef alum who stopped by? It was an incredible experience having Chef Angelo Sosa, Executive Chef of Tia Carmen at JW Marriot Phoenix Desert Ridge Resort + Spa join us at the Diner. Chef Sosa truly connected with our mission and I am stoked for the opportunity to collaborate with him to impact our community. We also had the wonderfully generous Mark & Lisa Newman stop by a donate a car to The Joy Bus which we are so grateful for! And a big congratulations is in order for Greg, the winner of our Father's Day basket - thank you for your support Greg and we hope you enjoy all the goodies and swag!
Back in June I had the chance to sit down with the teams from Arizona Snowbowl, and Plated Group, Inc. during a visit to Flagstaff with Four Peaks Brewing Co. It is always a good day when you can bounce ideas for collaboration and expansion off bright and gracious minds who want to see lives impacted for the better and I appreciate the time and attention that these awesome folks gave to The Joy Bus.
The fun continues throughout the month of July with one of our favorite #RestaurantCommunityPartners (RCP) - Venezia's Pizzeria! They will graciously be donating 20% from the sales of their Mozzarella Sticks at all Arizona locations. Please show them some love and support your favorite nonprofit in the process, you can't go wrong!

Our new friends at Aftermath Phoenix rocked it as our June #RCP and we are so stoked to have their support and partnership moving forward. I would also love to give a shout out to Inspired Living Collective, Laura Jewett's real estate team, for holding their Jurassic World movie premiere in support of The Joy Bus! And last but certainly not least, we are excited to announce that there is a new product donor at The Joy Bus Diner - Nueske's. Come check out their delicious Applewood Smoked Pepper-coated Bacon & Applewood Smoked Ham as soon as the Diner reopens on August 4th!

Getting Involved
Have you been thinking about volunteering with The Joy Bus and haven't been able to find an available slot? Now's your time to shine! We have some openings for our Meal Delivery Volunteer Position later this month and into August and would love your help. You can view this sign-up and all of our other opportunities here and join our Volunteer of the Month, Tom Smith. Tom is a wonderful addition to our Copper Hills Church volunteer team and we are so grateful that he has dedicated himself to serving his community and those who need it most.
We are also working hard to build our team of volunteers and community ambassadors and would love to have you join our team. Interested in volunteering but have questions?
