Fila

Waiting for a home: 1 year 1 month (412 days total)

Meet Fila, the ultimate lap cat and your future shadow. This affectionate queen loves one-on-one time and wants to be your number one cuddle buddy. She even stole the show at our Cat Yoga event this past April, confidently striking poses and finding her inner zen. Whether you're working from home or relaxing on the couch, Fila will be right there in your lap, purring away. Fila is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and ready for adoption.

Adopt Fila today!

Supporting Our Animals Just Got Easier!

Our new donation system is now live at abandonedpetrescue.org/make-a-donation. You can give by credit card, PayPal, or Venmo, all in one secure place.

Good Times for a Good Cause

Thank you to everyone involved in our events, your support betters a shelter's life!

Kukur Tihar at APR

Kukur Tihar is an annual festival from Nepal that celebrates and honors dogs. Traditionally, dogs are decorated with a tilaka on their foreheads and wear flower garlands to symbolize respect and love. Our volunteers set up a special blessing for the APR pups, complete with treats, attention, and plenty of photos.

Gulf Stream Brewing's Doggie Costume Contest

Our adoptable dogs had a blast at Gulfstream Brewing’s 7th Annual Doggie Costume Contest! Thank you to everyone who paw-ticipated and brought out their adorable pups, every costume was a 10/10 in our eyes.

A huge thank-you to our contest judges, Dr. Krista Seraydar from Chewy Vet Care, Jill Kaye from The Color Cove, Hayley Campbell from Veterinary Formula, and Ashley Nickell from Gulfstream Brewing Company. Thank you to the raffle winner who generously donated their winnings back to APR!

Young Hearts, Big Impact

We’re proud of the next generation of APR supporters. Ellie chose to celebrate her birthday by asking for donations instead of gifts, and the Saints & Service Kids Club donated food, blankets, toys, and cleaning supplies to help care for animals in need. Their generosity made a difference for our cats and dogs while they wait for their forever homes.

Blessed and Thankful

Our adoptable dogs received extra love at two special community events. Thank you to United Church of Christ Fort Lauderdale for inviting us to their Blessing of the Pets, and to Unity of Pompano Beach Spiritual Center for including us in their Fur-Ever-Blessed Pet Expo. We’re grateful for the kindness and support from both congregations.
