Out with the Old, In with the New:
NCC Introduces a Number of Improvements to their Facility
| |
New Century Careers is very excited about recent significant upgrades to their facility, enhancing their capabilities to provide top-tier machinist training. The improvements include new manual lathes, an advanced LED lighting system, a Universal OB7 collaborative robotic arm (cobot), a Smart TV donation, and a Stratasys F150 3D printer. These enhancements were made possible through generous grants from Scott Electric, Carnegie Mellon University Block Center, Laurel Foundation, Hillman Foundation, Department of Labor's Employment and Training Administration (ETA) Community Projects, Wilson Group, and the Build Back Better plan. These upgrades will further empower New Century Careers to equip individuals with the skills needed for successful careers in manufacturing. | Four New Manual Lathes Boost Training Capabilities | |
Four new manual lathes have been delivered and installed in our South Side facility. This upgrade has been made possible through the generous support of the Laurel Foundation, Hillman Foundation, and the Department of Labor's ETA Community Projects.
These new manual lathes are a valuable addition to our training resources, providing our trainees with hands-on experience using equipment commonly utilized by manufacturers in the region. The lathes will allow students to safely develop their skills in precision machining, an essential competency for a successful career in manufacturing.
| New LED Lighting System Brightens Training at New Century Careers | The installation of a new LED lighting system marks a significant enhancement to our facility. This was made possible through the generous funding from Scott Electric, their foundation, and the lighting equipment installed by CadeCor Energy & Lighting. The new lights offer brighter, more uniform illumination, which not only improves visibility but also creates a more comfortable and efficient learning environment for our trainees. Better lighting will facilitate precision work, reduce eye strain, and enhance overall safety within our training areas. This upgrade reflects our ongoing commitment to providing the best possible resources and environment for our students. | |
