On the Train for Reno!

I'm painting my nails jungle red and packing for Reno.

Two weeks and three days to go for "What Was Really Going On At Those Nevada Divorce Ranches? Fact and Fiction" at the Nevada Historical Society Writers' Wednesday series on May 8.

My cohort, author Peggy Wynne Borgman, and I will be promoting the event the day before on the ABC affiliate KOLO-8 on their Morning Segment on May 7. (Link to follow.)

If you happen to be in the area, or you want to make a special trip to be there, please come by, have a glass of wine, and enjoy 90 minutes in my world when Reno was glimmering, frothy, and "Divorce Capital of the World".

To quote Mary Haines (Norma Shearer), "To Reno!"

Best, Sandra

P.S. As I prep for May 8, I'm reminded of Bill's appearance at the Nevada Historical Society (NHS) in May 2016 on High Noon with Neal Cobb. I have some pretty big boots to fill (figuratively and literally). Pictured with Bill from left to right are Reno V.I.P.'s Donnelyn Curtis, then head of Special Collections, University of Nevada, Reno; Eric Moody, then Curator of Manuscripts, NHS; the late Lee Brumbaugh, Curator of Photographs, NHS.

Sandra V. McGee launched her writing career as a publicist for the performing arts. In 2000, she ventured into the bygone world of Nevada divorce ranches and never returned. Her passions are ballet, film noir, B movies, and Reno when it was “Divorce Capital of the World.” (Photo by Ingo Markmann Photography, Las Vegas)
