Understanding Hospice and Palliative Care Monday, May 12th 12pm
What exactly is Hospice and Palliative Care? What about a national governing/licensing body for it? What types of resources, equipment, nurses, aides, social workers, paper products, etc. come with it? Who determines if you need it? What qualifies care — or stops it? What impact does it have on your relationship with a primary care doctor? What happens if you need to go to the emergency room? Bridget Kurt, Community Liaison for Agape Hospice Care will answer these questions and more. RSVP at Program Sign Up. Hit this page link, then scroll to the bottom of the webpage for fill-in form.

Parkinson's Disease CarePartner Support
Monday, May 5th 2:00pm Support Group
Advance Care Planning allows each of us to consider what care and treatment we would like to receive if we are not able to speak for ourselves when healthcare decisions need to be made. In order to plan we need access to information about the kind of decisions that we may face as well as resources to assist us in considering our values and treatment preferences.
Sandra Walczak, will provide an overview of the CRITICAL Conditions® Planning Guide as it provides a pathway for such planning. Georgia Health Decisions (GHD) developed the CRITICAL Conditions® Planning Guide following extensive research to understand the opinions, attitudes and values people have about health care at the end of life. The Emory Center for Ethics and the Healthcare Ethics Consortium (HEC) are the new hosts of the CRITICAL Conditions® Planning Guide.
Newcomers are welcome to join us for an engaging, supportive and positive opportunity to share, learn and laugh!

At Aloha Day Club we are dedicated to nurturing a vibrant and supportive environment for older adults aged 55 and beyond, especially those who no longer drive and seek meaningful engagement outside their homes. Our week-day therapeutic program is thoughtfully designed to blend invigorating exercises, uplifting music, and stimulating activities, all while fostering enriching discussions that resonate with our participants. This holistic approach not only promotes physical well-being but also nurtures social and emotional connections, helping to alleviate feelings of isolation that many seniors experience. We invite family caregivers to discover the myriad opportunities we offer for their loved ones, as we believe in the power of community to uplift and inspire. Join us in keeping the Aloha spirit alive - whether through participation in our programs or by volunteering to support our mission, together we can create lasting connections and an atmosphere for our cherished older adults.
All potential Aloha Day Club members are required to have an assessment prior to admission into the program to ensure they are a good fit and have the necessary support to attend.
Please go to AlohaDayClubForms to download application forms. Please email info@alohatoaging.org for more information.
