AI-PROOF

MAJOR OF THE MONTH

(source: Forbes Magazine)

What is an AI-proof major?

According to Forbes, an AI-proof major is one that will prepare students to "work alongside AI rather than compete against it" because "the future belongs to graduates who can do what AI cannot: build relationships, navigate ambiguity, and create meaning from complexity."

Careers in Mental Health

(Counseling and Social Work)

Why is it AI-proof?

Mental health careers require interpersonal relationships, empathy, and sustained work with clients. Practitioners are required to make assessments, which could be made easier with the use of AI, but the core of the field will not be replaced with automation.

(source: Forbes)

What can you DO with this major?

Majors in Mental Health are prepared for entry-level work with clients and for governmental and private agencies. Bachelors-level practitioners can receive a lower level license to practice under a graduate level professional.
