Each year, WIABE recognizes Bilingual Bicultural Educators throughout the state for their dedication and contributions to multilingual and multicultural education. Educator of the Year Nomination should be one per school and completed by an administrator.

WIABE invites administrators to participate in the Administrator’s Institute at the 2025 WIABE Conference.

Learn best practices for working with multilingual, multicultural learners to share with your staff.
Meet and network with administrators and educators from around the state.
Improve your knowledge and leadership skills in the areas of multilingual multicultural education.

Each year, WIABE recognizes ONE nominee

for the Tony Baez Lifetime Achievement Award for their advocacy, commitment and the improvement in the quality of life for children, senior citizens, people with disabilities, and/or underrepresented racial ethnic groups.

WIABE is proud to showcase the amazing talents of our emergent

multilingual learners during our conference!

If your school has student groups that perform dances or play musical instruments, encourage them to submit a 3-5 minute video to for consideration to perform during our conference.

Seal of Biliteracy

Help WIABE celebrate Wisconsin Seal of Biliteracy recipients. We are looking for photos of your district or school’s Seal of Biliteracy recipients and/or recognition ceremonies. These photos would be included in our Seal of Biliteracy recognition during the 2025 WIABE

conference. Please send photos to

WIABE invites students in grades 3-12 who are learning in two languages to participate in our 2025 Student Writing and Art Contest.

Submission Deadline is Friday, March 7, 2025.
