Dear  ,

As you know, much of our strength in WILPF US is rooted in our solidarity--our collectivity. Usually that is accomplished in geographically-defined branches. We are eager to help all members find and connect with geographic branches, if they can and wish to affiliate with them.

However, we know that this is not always possible for a variety of reasons. Therefore, we are announcing an alternative means of connecting WILPF US At-Large Members--a reactivation of the Jane Addams Branch!

The Jane Addams Branch was first established decades ago. That branch provided At-Large Members an opportunity to act together as any geographic branch might. Members chose their leadership and programs and "met" through phone calls, emails, and regional or national congresses. However, as our organization went through major transitions some years ago, this virtual branch stopped functioning.

With today's technology, the opportunities for exchange, decision-making, and collaboration are so much greater. By reactivating the Jane Addams Branch, we can take advantage of these opportunities. We expect its members would benefit from an additional way to participate in and shape WILPF US. Further, other WILPF US members would also benefit: Our At-Large cohort is large and its members are engaged in many peace and justice efforts that other members should know about! Finally, like any other branch, the Jane Addams Branch might choose to fashion a branch program from members' common interests.

We are excited to offer the reactivation of Jane Addams Branch and would like to hear what you think as an At-Large Member. Please take the short 5-minute survey at the link below.

Thank you for your attention and your work for peace and freedom.

Yours,

Darien De Lu, President WILPF US Section
Shilpa Pandey, Membership Development Chair
Mary Bricker-Jenkins & Jan Corderman, Co-Conveners, The Jane Addams Branch
