Events

Trail Walk Tuesdays is back now that the weather is cooling down. Meet at the Association Office at 8:15am (this time can vary week to week). The trail walk is approximately 3 miles, however you do not have to commit to the entire walk. Can't make this timeframe but still want to participate? No problem. Message the office and we will work out something.

This walk is performed to inspect the dog stations, landscaping, trail conditions, and trash conditions.

September 20th - Fall Garage Sale from 8-2pm. Sign up for the Digital Map here. The map entry deadline is 3pm today.

Share the map link on your Socials to help spread the word.

October 7th - Annual Party/National Night Out from 5-7pm

You will not want to miss this event! It will be bigger and better than last year. Lots of raffle prizes from local businesses, pumpkin painting, face painting, photobooth, games, STEM trailer, and a food truck! We also should receive a visit from the Police and Fire Departments. I am still working on a few other components to the event, so it may grow even more still!

Do you run a local business? Let's get your name out to your neighbors during our Annual Party. If you have a store/office front, let's talk. Businesses cannot be run within Emory Crossing, as that is against the documents. Homes built in Emory Crossing are for Single-Family Residential Use Only. Advertising material can be brought to the Association office during business hours until 4pm on October 7th. Your information will be presented during the party. Can't make it to the office during business hours? Message the office and we will work something out.

** The Association cannot recommend/refer businesses to anyone, so please make sure you do your own research before reaching out to a neighbor-owned business. This offer is to help build community to get to know your neighbors that you may not otherwise have talked to. Businesses will be verified before content is shared.

October 15th - Annual Meeting 5-6:30pm

We get it, meetings can be boring. But, this year, we hope to pique your interest with important announcements. Please join us online. The Condo meeting will be at 5 pm and the Master meeting will be at 5:30 pm. More information is posted on our Annual Meeting page, as well as in the bulletin board, and will be sent to homeowners.

October 18th - Fall Fest 11-1pm

UT isn't playing until 5pm, so you have plenty of time to have fun with your neighbors. A&M hasn't announced the time of their game just yet, but we hope it won't interfere. What NFL or College team do you root for?

Resident Requests and Concerns

Each week, there are typically a handful of requests made by community members. These are your friends and neighbors asking for changes within the community so Emory Crossing can continue to be an amazing place to live and play.

The Association does not want Compliance to be the focal point of what we do, but when you bought or rented your home, you agreed to these CCRs/Documents. So, lets spin the atmosphere from Compliance to Community. Everyone doing their part to keep their property in good condition benefits the entire neighborhood. It also takes some work off the Association. Compliance drives can take a long time if there is a lot going on in terms of violations.

Most of the resident requests are based on behaviors that create unsafe situations.

Lawn Care - your weeds become other's weeds. Thanks Hutto Wind. Treat your yard with pre- and post-emergents. Mow and edge your lawn regularly. Tall grass invites critters like rats and snakes.

Trash cans -- I know it seems like no big deal to some, but for others, it makes it difficult to get down the alleyway and narrow streets, into driveways, or it just looks bad being on the curb when it isn't trash day. This is actually a city ordinance, too. Put your can away after trash pickup.

Speaking of alleyways, the directional signs and arrows were updated recently. This was after listening to resident suggestions, driving the neighborhood a variety of ways, and considering the future FM 1660 entrance. While the directions will not be perfect for everyone, there was a lot of time and thought put into this project to make sure it would alleviate heavy traffic areas and created the fastest and safest way into the neighborhood. Please drive the correct way in the alleys. This is for the safety of our neighbors and the children walking through. Driving on neighbor's grass or rocks is damaging their property. The alleys are too narrow for 2-way traffic.

Let's be respectful to everyone.

Emory Crossing Blvd - The office knows that GoogleMaps says the speed limit is 60. I have been trying to fix this for over a year. You can help by reporting the error to Google, too. The posted speed limit is 30. Remember, the school buses have multiple stops within Emory Crossing. This means kids are walking throughout the area. Slow down. You are not saving any real time by speeding within the neighborhood. MythBusters proved this long ago.

Close Patrols are requested regularly, but the police cannot be here all the time.

Resident Survey

Let your voice be heard. This is an opportunity to voice your thoughts and ideas. It allows the Board of Directors and CCMC know how we can continue to make Emory Crossing one of the best neighborhoods in Hutto.

Resident Survey

The survey will be open until October 9th.

As noted above, you may always reach out to the office with your thoughts. Communication is key.

The Document Library has all documents related to Emory Crossing. You only need a log-in to access the financials.

For a quick reference, Quick Docs has snips of the most asked CCR questions.

Architectural Requests

Most exterior modifications need to go through the review process. This process ensures that whatever modifications made to your home enhance or flow well within the community's architectural style and feel.

However, there are some projects the Board of Directors have preapproved. The only thing you would need to do for these projects is to double check with the city's requirements.

If you apply for a project that is preapproved, know that APR has a strict no refund policy. There is nothing the Association can do to get your fee back.

Preapproved Projects

Landscaping

For a truncated UDC Plant List, go to the Document Library and look under Quick Links. This is the City of Hutto's requirements for landscaping.

The city does have it's own code enforcement department.

Snake Season

The creek and pond in our neighborhood creates the perfect habitat for a variety of wildlife. Construction of multiple projects happening in and around Emory Crossing disturbs their habitats, which also causes them to relocate to new homes. Learn how to stay safe around snakes, coyotes, bobcats, and other animals that live here.

Having trouble with the app?

The app was recently updated. It has caused some to have issues. The only solution I have found is for me to delete the credential and resend it to you. Please include your address in the request. Most likely it affects your household. I will resend to everyone.

I recommend deleting the app and reinstalling from the credentials email. This seems to be the quickest and easiest troubleshooting fix.

Pool season is May 1st through September 30th. Pool hours are 5 am to 10 pm.

We are 11 days away from the end of the pool season. Due to needed maintenance and repairs, the season will not be extended.

The rules are enforced and the consequences can be financially painful.

Tool Loan Program

The police department has been working on this program for a while now. They have finally launched it! Tools are expensive, especially if you only need them here and there. The police department has collected tools to borrow!

Hutto Solve-It App

This is a handy little app to report problems.

Street Light Outage

The Association does not own any lights or poles on the streets. Please report outages and damages to Oncor. There are step by step instructions on our FAQ Page.

Is your street too dark in some areas? A resident shared his experience with requesting additional light poles, and it looks like it will be a positive outcome! It can't hurt to ask because an unasked question's answer will always be no.

Community Standards

Time to check your trees. If they are leaning or do not look alive, they most likely need a tree doctor (arborist) to take a look. If your tree needs to be replaced, that will need to take place in September - November to give the tree the best chance against our harsh summers. Most likely, you received a notice this week if your tree does not look healthy.

Replanting the same type of tree does not require an architectural request. However, if you want to change the type of tree, please see the Native Tall Tree list on the City of Hutto's UDC and submit an application for your tree of choice. A truncated document can be found on the Document Library of our website.

If your trees are over 2 years old, please remove the stakes. This helps promote a healthy root system. It also prevents the trunk from being damaged by the tie down.
