Internet Explorer End of Life
For years, Microsoft has been trying to sway users away from Internet Explorer. The issue was that, since the program was so popular at the beginning of the internet era, many sites were designed to utilize the Internet Explorer setup. While they have been successful in pushing more and more sites away from this, there is now an official end-of-support date - June 14, 2022.
Could We See Any Effects?
It is possible, but Microsoft has been moving IE users to Edge for a while now. There is an IE mode built into Edge that is supposed to begin to take this over, but there are always opportunities for issues related to this. Users who use sites that still require IE should take note and look for any notices from those sites about how they are planning to deal with this.
In recent years, we have seen more and more sites migrate off of this, so the effects should at least be minimized. That said, if you are still using Internet Explorer, you should look to move to another browser and limit IE usage as much as possible. If you have sites that currently utilize IE, you should consider testing them out in Edge sooner rather than later to see if you might have issues going forward.
