Notice Date: Thursday, August 20, 2026

What's Happening?

The contractor for the 23 Street Streetscape project is completing electrical work needed to activate the new traffic signals. Once completed, the contractor will conduct general cleanup throughout the project limits to restore the area to pre-construction conditions.

Timeline

Construction hours are Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Residents and visitors should expect construction to be completed by summer 2026.

Please know that this schedule may change due to weather and/or unforeseen circumstances.

Traffic Impacts

A detailed traffic plan, developed in accordance with Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) standards, will be in place throughout construction to ensure safe and efficient travel for drivers and pedestrians.

When lanes are reduced, approved traffic‑management measures will be used to maintain safety and minimize disruptions. No more than one lane will be closed at a time on any roadway, although work may occur in multiple segments. Please use caution when traveling through the work areas.

What to Expect

  • Temporary work zones and lane closures may occur within the project area. Please follow detours and signage for alternative routes.
  • Pedestrian traffic may be temporarily rerouted during construction. Please be aware of detour signs for alternative pedestrian pathways.
  • Construction activities may generate noise from equipment and machinery. Every effort will be made to minimize any disruptions to the neighborhood.
