At the conclusion of a night to remember,
Noam received a memento from the people of Beaver Lake
| | So what is this memento you ask? | | |
This is a "Chizuk coin," based on the concept of a "Challenge Coin." A chizuk coin is a custom designed coin or medallion, typically bearing an organization’s insignia or emblem, given to honor membership, commemorate an achievement, or recognize special service.
They are most commonly given to military personnel, law enforcement officers, firefighters, and first responders. They can also be presented to visiting dignitaries. Over time, carrying and exchanging such coins became a mark of loyalty, belonging, and mutual respect.
Our own Rabbi Tzvi Berkowitz designed these coins which Beaver Lake sponsors through our Tzedakah fund.
Tzvi is "our emissary of care" having provided chizuk and strength to the defenders of Israel, time and time again.
Below, is our coin in the hands of the President of Israel, Isaac Hertzog

Hi Everyone,
If you’ve spotted a red golf cart zipping around Beaver Lake with happy passengers and a friendly wave, that’s us in the Beaver Buggy! Whether it’s a lift to the pool, a quick ride to the lake, or a shuttle over to shul, we’re always happy to help get you where you need to go.
But what we really love most isn’t just the driving - it’s the conversations along the way. Every ride is a chance to meet someone new, catch up with old friends, and hear the wonderful stories and memories that make our community so special. From sharing laughs and learning Yiddish (sorry, Hungarians) to discovering a bit more about each of you, the Beaver Buggy has become our favorite way to connect.
So if you see any of us cruising by, don’t hesitate to flag us down. Hop in, tell us where you’re headed, and share a story or two. The Beaver Buggy is more than just a ride - it’s a little moving piece of community spirit. See you around BL.

Joel Plaut was the first to correctly answer last week's question of what animal pooped the poo: C. White-tailed Deer
What Do White-Tailed Deer Eat?
White-tailed deer are herbivores, and their diet shifts with the seasons:
Spring/Summer: They love tender greens like clover, alfalfa, wildflowers, grass, and the young shoots of shrubs and trees.
Fall: They bulk up on acorns, beechnuts, apples, and corn. Anything high in fat and sugar to prepare for winter.
Winter: Pickings are slim, so they rely on woody browse. Twigs, buds, and bark from trees like maple, oak, and hemlock.
They are selective feeders and will often nibble only the most nutritious parts of plants.

🐾WHO POOPED HERE?
ROUND 2 💩
This poop was spotted near our lake trail right here in Beaver Lake. Can you figure out which animal left this behind?
💩 “Who Did This Poop?” – Round 2
Larger than most local animal droppings, often in chunky piles or thick logs.
Can you guess the culprit?
🕵️♀️ Clues:
Seasonal Buffet - In summer and fall, looks like it came straight from a berry smoothie machine - full of seeds, skins, and fruit bits.
Protein Surprise - Sometimes you’ll find traces of insects, fur, or even fish bones.
Trailside Calling Card - Often left in the middle of paths.
🐾 Your Choices:
A. Eastern Cottontail Rabbit
B. Black Bear
C. Wild Turkey
D. Saber Toothed Tiger

Don’t set your trash too early at the curb,
It draws wild critters and stirs up the herd.
They rip it apart and leave quite a mess
