The Chaplain's Corner

by Scarlett Griffin, Chaplain

Proverbs 3:5-6

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths."

Beloved Lord,

Your word tells us to trust You in all things and You will be with us as we meet together each new day. Lord, we ask You to strengthen our resolve in keeping our hearts and minds on You, not on the political chaos around us. We have great concerns about the future of our beloved country. We see the anger and unrest being stirred up by progressive socialists and it brings doubt as to what lies ahead. Lord, give us signs of Your presence for, as flawed humans, our faith wavers when we see or experience ugliness and hatred. It is bewildering to see our elected officials, especially liberals, refer to fellow Americans as Nazis, racists, fascists and many more slurs. Because of Your promise, we know You are with us. We need you, dear Lord. We need Your Holy Spirit to speak to us, guide and strengthen us and give us assurance You are with us and all is well. We lay these petitions at the foot of Your throne,

Amen.
