Invite Us to Capture Your Program!
We’d love to visit early learning programs across Sarasota County to capture real, everyday photos and videos for future ELC social media, outreach, and marketing materials.
You don’t need a special event or activity planned. A regular day is perfect! We’re looking for authentic moments like teachers in action, children learning and playing, classroom activities, outdoor time, and all the little moments that show early learning in action.
And if you do have something special coming up, we’d love to hear about that too!

Reporting Child Absences
The Rilya Wilson Act helps protect children by requiring timely reporting of certain absences for children enrolled in School Readiness.
If you have a child under school age enrolled in School Readiness, your School Readiness contract requires you to notify the ELC Sarasota when the child has absence(s) that fall under the Rilya Wilson Act.
To make reporting easier, we’ve provided the attached flyer as a quick reference. Please take a moment to review and keep it handy so you know when an absence(s) needs to be reported.
When a child’s absence(s) meets the reporting requirements, you can submit the report through the ELC Sarasota website here.

We created a new online tool on our website so you can quickly access your FAST Star Early Literacy Progress Monitoring dates without waiting for an email or digging through old messages.

NEW: VPK Wrap Rate Calculator
If you have children participating in VPK and School Readiness at your center or family child care home, our team has created a tool that will help you with calculating the VPK Wrap Rate.
All you have to do is enter your private daily rate, and select provider type, quality performance tier, care schedule, child age group, VPK hours/day, daily parent copayment, and days attended. The calculator will do the rest and provide you with the calculated differential.
Your quality performance tier percentage is based on your CLASS© composite score and can be found in your School Readiness contract.
This VPK Wrap Calculator provides estimates only and should not be considered a guarantee of payment or reimbursement. Actual amounts may vary based on program requirements, eligibility, attendance, and other applicable factors.
