It is with great sadness, that I report the passing of Skål International Reno/Tahoe Member Gordon Horsley at the age of
80 on December 15, 2018.
Gordon Horsley leaves a legacy of civic and community involvement in addition to his success as the owner of Travel Services. He was known in the hospitality industry as a leader and confidant.
Gordon was a founding member of Skål International Reno Tahoe and it's President in 1986. He consistently attended meetings until his passing. Gordon attended many NASC and 1 World Congress in Los Angeles. He always stated that he made a huge amount of friends across the world at the LA Congress. He stands out as one of the very few who shared the true meaning of amicale long after leaving office.
Professionally Gordon and his wife owned and operated Travel Services and Convention Activities for 3
0
+ years. He ended his career working with Amador Stage Lines until the time of his passing. He was active in the hotel, resort and hospitality industry in Reno Tahoe and was a proud member of The Reno Tahoe Territory organization. He frequently attended those meetings along with staying active with the Reno Sparks Convention Authority.
Gordon was active in the Prospectors Club of Reno, Hidden Valley Country Club and the Harrahs National Auto Museum Collection for most of his career.
Gordon served in the Marine Corp from 1960 -1963.
Gordon Horsley loved Skal and what it stands for Happiness, Good Health, Friendship, Long Life. He loved his fellow members and will be missed by all!
